ARMv8 is going to be Tier1 architecture for FreeBSD11
ARMv8 (aka AArch64, ARM64) is going to be Tier1 architecture for FreeBSD11.
Work is on behalf of FreeBSD Foundation sponsored by ARM & Cavium. Work carried out by Andrew Turner & SemiHalf. https://community.arm.com/groups/pro...-cpu-armv8-soc General goal of work is to support ARMv8. Important milestone was to boot on one processor Cavium ThunderX. The second important milestone have been booting and running on two ThunderX's CPUs in dual socket configuration.
