Beep low battery
Hello,
On a laptop when the battery is low, there is a beep every 2 seconds, how to disable it ? It's not the BIOS setting which is already disabled. Last edited by tixx8542; 5th December 2014 at 01:54 AM. Reason: Better description |

Welcome!
Please provide the complete output of dmesg(8). Without this minimum of information, there is virtually nothing anyone can suggest. Last edited by ocicat; 5th December 2014 at 02:13 AM. Reason: spelling |

I have already it, but this is for the keyboard not the battery.

If you don't get any further responses in either venue, look at whatever information is available from the manufacturer, and/or contact their technical support. Good luck. |

While I thought of such a solution, it is heavy-handed in preventing all other audio play. Maybe this is okay with tixx8542, maybe it isn't. tixx8542 needs to further clarify the situation, & his goal.
As for another (obvious) solution, the battery could simply be kept charged. If the laptop beeps when it is low on charge, don't let it get low in the first place. Problem solved. |

Hello,
I contacted the manufacturer and yes it's done at the hardware level, I thought it was a setting in OpenBSD. Quote:
Code:
mixerctl outputs.spkr_mute=on For audioctl I don't know. Quote:
