Well, I am new to open bsd, just installed it to VM a few days ago, but anyway, here is what I have so
far,
My first login (as a normal user):

Then, just exploring, reading the manual, etc.

I am anxious to install Open Bsd to a real computer, instead of the VM , but for now ,that is
all I have.

Hello, and welcome!

If you happen to have a second disk drive, you could install outside a virtual machine. Even USB sticks will work for the purpose, but perhaps operate more slowly than the VM.

You would need to ensure you select the right drive during install, so you do not overlay your primary disk drive, and then inform your BIOS that you want to boot from the alternate device.

---

I note you're using OpenBSD 5.6 for your initial tests. That's fine. If you're not already aware of it, OpenBSD 5.6 will be end-of-life on November 1, when 5.8 is released. The most recent release is 5.7. There are two releases per year, and only the most recent two releases are supported.

Ok, thanks on that, don't have a 2nd hd, and where I live is very rural, no where to get
another USB stick, all the ones I have are being used, next trip to the city, I can get one,
or a few to have on hand. thanks though,..

I am celebrating my 100th post by showing off a theme I created inspired by the original Tron movie.

I used to use Xfce-terminal, until I looked at Sakura after seeing a few references to it. I liked it better and kept using it.

It used to be my terminal emulator of choice until I started messing about with xterm configuration and got that looking and working exactly as I wanted.

At the risk of sending the thread off-topic, it was cynwulf's references on another board that gave me incentive to look at Sakura.

I started reading xterm's long man page with the intention of seeing if I could configure it the way I like a terminal, but I got sidetracked. Hopefully I shall get back to it some time.

No screen grabs, but here are some backdrops others might want to use (or not ). I quickly made them with GIMP.

Two for OpenBSD.
