Default suddenly no applications reach internet, but ping does so.

All is in the title : internet isn't reacheable anymore on my pc,
whereas the cable IS plugged, and ping successes.
What's going on ?
What can I do to know more about where it blocks ?

Mehdi

You have to call OpenBSD customer service at 1-800-234-3325.

Does this persist after issuing:
Code:
# sh /etc/netstart
?

Please, Oko, stop being rude to new users. This forum is intended to be newbie friendly.

Please keep in mind that we were all newbies once, and try to have a little patience with people who do not know what to do and who have turned to us for help.

Mehdi, we don't have enough information from what you've posted here to provide complete guidance.

If you have edited your /etc/pf.conf file to filter traffic, you can discover why your traffic is being blocked if you:
  1. Add the log option to every rule you want to track -- block rules in particular, but you can add this option to every pass rule also. The syntax places the option after directives such as in or out if used.:

    block in log ...
    or
    block log ...
    or
    pass out log ...
  2. Use tcpdump(8) to inspect tracked rules via pflog(4):
# tcpdump -neti pflog0.

I certainly wouldn't be if not for the help I got when first starting out, and every step along the way. (Even as I realize I'm often not the best person to give help.)

When you ping, is it domain name (openbsd.org) or are you pinging IP (8.8.8.8)?

If domain name does not ping, double check your /etc/resolv.conf and make sure there is at least one valid nameserver entry.

If DNS is working, then double check default gateway.

Try with pf turned off ( pfctl -d )
