Cannot mount (NTFS)
Hi,
I have a Windows HD and have been trying to mount it in OpenBSD. Code:
# mount /dev/wd0i /mnt/winhdd mount_ntfs: /dev/wd0i on /mnt/winhdd: Operation not supported # mount -r /dev/wd0i /mnt/winhdd mount_ntfs: /dev/wd0i on /mnt/winhdd: Operation not supported Code:
/dev/wd1a / ffs rw 1 1 /dev/wd1g /home ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2 /dev/wd1d /tmp ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2 /dev/wd1f /usr ffs rw,nodev 1 2 /dev/wd1e /var ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2 Code:
/dev/wd0i /mnt/winhdd ntfs r 1 2 Here's some information that may or may not be helpful (I can't tell what's what, to be honest). disklabel: Code:

The fact that the mount_ntfs utility exists in base confuses people, but as ocicat said, you still need to recompile the kernel with the NTFS option.
It's considered experimental though.. it's definitely not being actively worked on(In tree.. anyway.), most recent commits were removal of obsolete NetBSD clauses and RCSID macro fluff. |

Recompiling a kernel is definitely beyond my capabilities, at least for the moment. Thank for letting me know; I'll just live without NTFS support (it's not like there's anything important on that drive I can't get to through Windows).
