NetBSD with Asus P6T Mobo
Trying to get the ethernet card working. Anyone know where to start? Seems like it hasn't been recognized as there are no /etc/ifconfig.{if} files.

Note: without seeing your dmesg, this is at best a guess:
The P6T is a fairly new board - the drivers may not be in the 4.0.1 system. You may need to build 5.0 RC1 in order to get those drivers. I've run into this issue (drivers in -current only) on some new systems with components less than a year to a year-and-a-half old.

I'll see what I can do with what you guys have told me when I get off work. Much thanks.
However I was wondering if anyone could answer these few arbitrary questions: - Has NetBSD been known to work with Radeon 4870 X2? - Is NetBSD i386 fully 64-bit? Does anything need to be done to move from a 32-bit install to 64-bit? I have 6 GB of RAM and was wondering if it is even recognizing it all. It's been a while since I've been using NetBSD and I feel so rusty. That's what I get for buying a mac. |

After checking out the dmesg I found that it recognized the Ethernet card and gave it the handle 're0'. So my network is up and running and that only hitch left is the graphics card/X11. I guess I'll be back if I get stuck.
Thanks guys. |
