If you are using ports, dctr, you are not installing KDE, you are building it. Then installing the packages it eventually makes. KDE is very large, and it takes many hours, perhaps days, depending on the system doing the building, and a frightful amount of GB of storage. In addition, you are building and installing every dependency in the chain, some of which is used only for building, and would not be installed at all if you just installed the packages in the first place.

Alright thank you... I understand now and KDE is installed.

The only thing I don't understand is if I type too fast my system locks up. At first I thought it was just when booting but even when I start KDE up it does it. If I am typing and it locks up as I hit "s" it will just repeat "sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssss" until I reboot. I am using the i386 version and I am on an AMD 4400+ dual core.

This happens both within X (KDE) and outside of X in a standard console environment?
If so, your problem may be keyboard related. Post your dmesg.

Dual core? If you are not booting bsd.mp, you are not using both cores. Of course, that won't help a keyboard problem.

I've went ahead and installed FreeBSD again until I can find a solution.. I am tired of using my sidekick to get online.

Now for what's going on, I realized I can unplug my keyboard and plug it back in, the scrolling will still go but then i can hit a key and it will stop it.. but after I did that and t ried to launch konquerer it locked up again and had to be rebooted.
