those .core files do take up space ..
Hi again !
Those files ending with .core .. that reside at home or wherever the current directory is -when a respective application is launched- .. what do they serve ? are they a necessity ? they may be unwelcome when on a small size flash disk while those consume hundreds of megabytes .. |

You can not coredump by setting "ulimit -c 0" in your .profile. That will stop programs from core-dumping onto the filesystem, but if you want to debug something you'll have to unset it.
