Default New binary packages

Today I "discovered" that some new binary packages are available, since about May 18. I had been looking in the 6.1.5 subdirectory, but they're in 6.1_2015Q1 on ftp.netbsd.org. Some early experiences ...

The big browsers are more up-to-date, firefox 36.0.4 and seamonkey 2.33.1. These now require the gcc46-libs package, which is quite small. Perhaps the gcc package will work instead, but that's 110MB.

I am finding the new firefox now runs on 6.1.5_PATCH i386 without having to go into safe-mode. Having

# ulimit -s 2048

continues to be necessary for both of these browsers.
