Emacs on OpenBSD on DEC VAX?
I have managed to install OpenBSD 5.2 on my DEC VaxStation 4000 Model 90 but to my surprise have not found a binary for Emacs (any version) for the VAX architecture. I am not sure if it is in the ports collection either.
Has anybody succeeded in installing any version of Emacs on the VAX architecture? Note that the VAX architecture distribution of OpenBSD uses a modified version of GCC 2.9.5 as it's compiler. |

On ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/5.2/packages/vax/ I see the following:
Code:

There are entries for Emacs 21.x, 22.x and 23.x in the Ports tree, however unfortunately I have so far been unable to install any (I tried with 21 and 23). Will likely also try one last time with Emacs 21 with _no_X (or whatever the correct flag is).
The search for Emacs on OpenBSD on this machine continues. |
