Default Another Introduction

Hello everyone!

as I am new to this forum, I just wanted to shortly introduce myself.

Unfortunately, I have no experience yet with BSD-Systems, but I really like the idea and goals behind these systems (especially OpenBSD because of its great priority on security).
Currently I am using Mageia Linux, but as soon as I think to know enough to get startet I will try OpenBSD (I can hardly wait until then.. ).
As I am studying computer science, I hope to earn some indepth knowledge about UNIX-Systems in general and OpenBSD in particular

So I'm looking forward to get to know to this great community

Best regards (and I very much apologize for my pour language skills).

Hello, and welcome!

Online, your best resource on OpenBSD will be the FAQ. Much of the information available from third parties may be out-of-date or might be misleading in other ways. (I include us in that list of third party resources. If you find guidance in a thread here, check how long ago it was posted. New information may be available.)

Offline, the best resource will be Absolute OpenBSD, a book by Michael W. Lucas. There is a recently revised second edition, and it is an excellent resource. The first edition was a primary resource for me for ten years, and the new second edition is proudly sitting next to the first on my shelf.

Thank you very much!

And thank you jggimi for your advice, I had this book allready in mind, but now I think I can buy it in any case
Unfortunately I have to wait until semester break, I'm reading Tanenbaum's "Modern operating system" at the moment and thereafter Stroustrup's "C++ Programming language"..
But it's on my to-do list with top priority
