Question Package path help needed

My brain isn't working today!

Last year,I installed OpenBSD 5.7 on a machine and after some difficulty, got the PKG_PATH set and working.

Today,I installed 5.8 on another machine following the OpenBSD faq and other pages to set the path, tried to download something and get "can't find..."

I used the usual statement.

Can somebody set me straight?

btw: my nearest mirrors, here in Canada are Toronto and Kingston, but, since I have fast cable internet, can I use the default Alberta mirror?

What is the "usual statement"? How did you try to set it and what did you try to set it to?

Also see 'man pkg.conf'

im.

If the installation of kernels and filesets was performed via the Internet, /etc/pkg.conf will be provisioned automatically.

As I mentioned in your previous thread, setting a PKG_PATH environment variable will override the file, if it exists.

.I installed via cdrom, then updated the PKG_PATH and edited the appropriate .profile.All fine now.
