Default Whats cooking in FreeBSD 8

One of the notable improvements is the increase in kernel memory on the 64 bit architecture which should help with the memory exhaustion problem we currently have with ZFS on FreeBSD. Is it possible to increase maximum kernel memory above 2GB on 32 bit systems?

GPT is going to become very important soon. As is rewriting all of the disk related tools and probably some drivers to overcome the 2TB limit. (aka Big Disk)

I've already encountered a few issues doing installs on servers because of it.

Very interesting, I wonder how the changes to the tty layer will turn out.

bsdlabel is (finally!) extended to support more than 8 partitions. The new limit of 26 partitions comes from the number of lower-case leters.

I was playing with Imunes (live CD) at the time and it looked pretty interesting. I didn't think it will go through this quick though. Good work Marko.
The best way to learn UNIX is to play with it, and the harder you play, the more you learn.
If you play hard enough, you'll break something for sure, and having to fix a badly broken system is arguably the fastest way of all to learn. -Michael Lucas, AbsoluteBSD
