Cool OpenBSD 4.7 on HP dv4-2113la

Greetings everyone, i just installed OpenBSD 4.7 in this laptop, sadly it does not work not sound or wireless, I managed to "hack" the bios so it can accept an atheros wifi card that i pulled from an EEE netbook, but it does not work either, so I installed a ralink(rum) usb wifi adapter, here is my dmesg, someone have any advice?

Code:

From that dmesg, I see nothing visibly wrong with the Atheros Wireless, can you describe the problem in more detail?

As for audio, newer video cards tend to be dual-function and include an azalia(4) sound device.. this is for audio-over-HDMI, but it's not currently supported by OpenBSD, so it detaches, and your second card becomes the first audio(4) device.

Azalia is complex hardware, it's not like the simpler generation of a few years ago, and some fiddling around in mixerctl(1) is necessary, as there is no "default" for all devices, Jacob Meuser on the mailing lists often describes these issues, so be sure to read some of his posts, or mail him directly.

In order for others to discern what has taken place, it would be good for you to disclose what "hack" means.

I'm not sure ocicat, but some laptops/netbooks with internal MiniPCI/MiniPCI-e slots tend to hardcode the vendor/product ID in the BIOS, preventing you from using another card.

Communities tend to pop up around those devices and include custom BIOS images that you can flash to either bypass this vendor imposed limitation, but sometimes it's not as easy and you need to modify it yourself and include the new vendor/product information (..via hex editing, etc).

Then again, OP could have meant something entirely different, further clarification would be nice.. especially why he thinks it's not functional.
