Adobe abandons mobile Flash in favor of HTML5
I would think this would also affect flash on the desktop. Now if my bank would just get the message

Amusing how this affects RIM's PlayBook tablet, which used Flash support as a central point of its marketing campaign.

Well it seems like this is finally "it"... seems long overdue and if they'd done this a few years ago, things would be much further forward.

When all is said and done though flashplayer was mainly a "video player" for most people and if sites switch entirely to HTML5 video players, it won't really be missed.

MS have already done the same with silverlight. It's all part of the general industry move away from browser plugins.

Well, "it" will be "over over" in 2020, but yeah, that's the (right) direction their heading

There's an idea in my company to block, turn off and uninstall flash completely for security reasons. Has anyone tried it in their company/corporate environment?
