Default SSL very slow

Hi, does anyone here a OpenBSD webserver running with https enabled? I got really bad performance with 6.4 x64 when downloading anything via https. From my VPS in Atlanta to a testserver in LA(just an example, I used https://www.websitepulse.com for testing) A 11MB file needs 23 sec. to transfer and with http only about 3 sec.
Tested with httpd and nginx, no change at all.
Is it possible that libressl is slowing down that much on a VPS?
Just to be sure if it is the OS, I installed once Freebsd 11, same nginx.conf s on openbsd, and https and http download and general speed were the same, generally very fast.

Interesting... I get worse results to MacOS.

I run an internal OpenBSD mirror so using base64.tgz to test and curl on all systems.

MacOS
http: ~28M
https: ~7700K

Ubuntu16
http: ~11M
https: ~10.8M

OpenBSD VM
http: ~21.6M
https: ~17.2M

OpenBSD bare metal
http: ~49.5M
https: ~40M

This might say more about our network than anything... I'm guessing the horrible number on MacOS might be related to our corporate spyware.

Well, very strange indeed, did further tests, as it´s very easy and fast with vultr to setup vps with custom iso, here are my findings:
Nginx on Open BSD 5.5, 5.6. 5.8 are ok and very fast with https, but without http2 support,
6.0 fast too, no really noticeable speed difference between http and https with nginx and a very basic nginx.conf, test with httpd from openbsd fast too.
Now comes in Openbsd 6.1, huge difference between http and https, ssl slows down about 4 to 6 times.
Since I like OpenBSD too much I´m quite sad that I don´t find any solution, no tweak did it, and problem seems uncommon or not noticed. But with these speeds and https ever time more important I´ll switch to FreeBSD.... and make some test with the next versions of openbsd, maybe gets better in the future, who knows.
