Disable beep
I have
Code:
wsconsctl keyboard.bell.volume=0 Now I write in xterm or gedit. I am at meeting and I am getting quite embarrassed of all this , beep, beep |

Found a solution :
open an xterm Code:
xset b off xset b 0 0 0 |

Thanks for posting, that's going to help someone else.

Just stumbled on this thread -- It's good to know there's a way to disable the system beep independently of the speaker volume. No more apologizing for vi(1) beeping during a video conference -- Thanks!

You can also add 'xset b off' to ~/.xsession - no more beeps.
