Default gdm/ new monitor issue

Hello,

I upgraded from a 15" monitor to a 21.5" wide screen. After much reading and futzing, I figured out that I just needed to reboot... twice (the first time it got the mhz confused and wouldn't show graphics).

So now I can log into gdm with root, but not with any of the less priveleged accounts. gdm apparently accepts the password and the screen blanks, then it goes back to the gdm. If I log in as root and switch user to another account, it drops back to the root desktop.

I looked in .xsession-errors and this is it:

/usr/local/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
This fortune brought to you by:
$FreeBSD: src/games/fortune/datfiles/freebsd-tips,v 1.42.2.1.4.1 2008/11/25 02:59:29 kensmith Exp $
/usr/local/etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: dbus-launch --exit-with-session /usr/local/bin/seahorse-agent --execute gnome-session

** (process:1355): WARNING **: Unable to allocate secure memory from gnome-keyring.

** (process:1355): WARNING **: Proceeding using insecure memory for password fields.

SESSION_MANAGER=local/jimbus.thebabcocks.net:/tmp/.ICE-unix/1355

Thanks,

JimB

PS: I'm running FreeBSD 7.1 and posted this in the wrong forum, oops.

I double posted because I posted it to the wrong forum initially.

I still have the issue if you have some advice. I've generated zero response here and on gnomeforums.
