Somehow, we are not communicating.
  • It is not clear if you are aware that Apache 1.3 is installed by default given that it is part of the base installation.
  • Apache 2.2 is only available through OpenBSD's packages/ports system.
The OpenPorts.se page referenced earlier:

http://openports.se/www/apache-httpd

...will only provide information on the package. The package itself is not available on the OpenPorts site.

In many ways, obtaining packages from a site not affiliated with the OpenBSD project isn't what you want anyways, as it is preferable to get packages from sanctioned mirror sites officially blessed by the OpenBSD project. The OpenPorts site is merely a third-party site which harvests information from CVS & displays it in a most palatable manner.

So to actually download and/or install packages, study Section 15.2.2 of the FAQ.

@dbach,

The Apache 1.3+ that ocicat has mentioned to you now and before is, per FAQ 1.3, "[The Project's] improved and secured version of the Apache 1.3 web server. The OpenBSD team has added default chrooting, privilege revocation, and other security-related improvements. Also includes mod_ssl and DSO support."

If it meets your technical requirements, it is recommended over the www/apache-httpd port; that package installs with the following console message:
Code:
This is the official httpd distributed by the Apache Server Project,
provided as a port for those who, for various reasons, need to run
version 2.

OpenBSD provides a custom Apache server, httpd(8), in the base system
which has been audited for security and may run in a chroot(2)
environment. Users are STRONGLY encouraged to use the system httpd
rather than this port.
