Default ftpd anonymous not login

Hello.

I wondered how I could disable anonymous user login daemon ftpd. When entering the server asked me login.

You could leave as OpenBSD servers for example, not login for anonymous users.

I been looking in login.conf, some ftp login, but not if I do well.

Thanks.

Does ftp(1)'s -a option address what you are wanting?

Or, if it's the ftpd(8) daemon that you wish to provision so that it refuses anonymous connections, see the -n option in the ftpd(8) man page.

So it's via ftp with the -a option, I thought it was the demon ftpd.

Has to support the client with the -a option, there is no way to do it with ftpd?

Thank you both for time.

Could you please clarify what you are trying to do? It's not at all clear what you wish to accomplish.

The FTP server, ftpd(8), permits anonymous login unless you specify -n, which disables anonymous logins. It can also be set to use anonymous only (and optionally a restricted set of users) with -A.

The FTP client, ftp(1), will automatically use an anonymous login (like your browser with an ftp:// URL), if you use -a. Without -a, it will prompt for userid/password, and if you wish, you may use anonymous login at that point.
