Default Xorg right click with touchpad

Hi

I am writting this from Lumina, mous pointer is moving, and I can left click. But no right clicking.

/usr/X11R6/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf

Code:

What I have tried now:
Code:
mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/
cp /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf
I startx with default example file, mouse pointer works, but still no right clicking with right side of touch pad.

The I tried to remove default config inside 50-synaptics.conf and add instead:
Code:
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "touchpad catchall"
Driver "synaptics"
MatchIsTouchpad "on"
# This option is recommend on all Linux systems using evdev, but cannot be
# enabled by default. See the following link for details:
# http://who-t.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-t ... rrors.html
MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
Option "TapButton1" "1"
Option "TapButton2" "2"
Option "TapButton3" "3"
Option "ClickPad" "true"
Option "EmulateMidButtonTime" "0"
Option "SoftButtonAreas" "50% 0 82% 0 0 0 0 0"
EndSection
Then startx wont start x, so i rm it and startx starts again, but no right mouse button. So startx reads the file inside of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf, but linux solutions might not work directly in openbsd. Trying to google for OpenBSD specific solution now.

Did not find OpenBSD, tried another linux.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf

Code:
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "touchpad"
    Driver "synaptics"
    MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        Option "TapButton1" "1"
        Option "TapButton2" "3"
        Option "TapButton3" "2"
        Option "VertEdgeScroll" "on"
        Option "VertTwoFingerScroll" "on"
        Option "HorizEdgeScroll" "on"
        Option "HorizTwoFingerScroll" "on"
        Option "CircularScrolling" "on"
        Option "CircScrollTrigger" "2"
        Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinZ" "40"
        Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinW" "8"
        Option "CoastingSpeed" "0"
        Option "FingerLow" "30"
        Option "FingerHigh" "50"
        Option "MaxTapTime" "125"
        ...
EndSectio
Startx would not start, due to "..." at the end of the file, removed "..." and it started. But still no right clicking with touchpad,

From /var/run/dmseg.boot
Code:
pms0: Synaptics clickpad, firmware 8.2/
/
So should I use 50 or 70 synaptics.conf?

And what should be inside? or is the xorg.conf need of editing?

The name of the file only affects the order in which the configuration files are loaded, both would be parsed.

However:

I don't think so, no. There is no option to enable or disable right-click in that configuration file, misconfiguration thus seems unlikely.

You have Braswell hardware and that is pretty new, perhaps your touchpad isn't fully supported yet.

How recently have you updated your system?

You can use
Code:
xev
and check if right-clicks are picked up at all.

What shows up in:
Code:
xinput list

OK, so right-click is supported on your device.

Does right-click work with fvwm(1) or any of the other window managers included in the base system?

Is "TapButton3" listed in the output of
Code:
synclient

Copy a part of synclient output
Code:

    ClickFinger3            = 1

Disabled lumina in .xinitrc, with a #. Startx wont start.

If you run:
Code:
synclient tapbutton3=1
Does a single-finger tap then produce the effect of a right-click?

I really do think that you need to try one of the standard window managers such as fvwm(1) or cwm(1) as this problem may be an issue with the Lumina desktop itself.

I tried with a fresh user, with no .xinitrc file. Pure xorg. Same problem, no right click with toucpad. Everything works with mouse.

Code:
synclient tapbutton3=1
Takes effect as shown, when synclient command is run, but has no effect. RIght clicking with touchpad still does not work.

Try this instead:
Code:
startx /usr/X11R6/bin/fvwm
This will temporarily start X with the named WM

EDIT: Sorry, cross-posted with your reply above...

startx /usr/X11R6/bin/fvwm fails. But pure xorg with a fresh user works, with startx command. So it is not a lumina fault, then the same problem should not be present with a freshly added user, running startx into pure/default xorg.

I'm sorry, I don't fully understand.

After you run `synclient tapbutton3=1`, are you then able to simulate a right-click with a single-finger tap?

If so, perhaps your touchpad hardware is faulty -- can you test it with a "live" GNU/Linux ISO image?

Also, I did ask before:

Perhaps the hardware support will be better if you upgrade to a recent snapshot.

I run 6.0 release.
I have run
fwupdate -a
and
pkg_add -uiv
It should be up to date.
Touch pad works fine in linux, tried half a year ago.

Regarding the command, the command has been registered since the output of the command show 1 instead of 0 for that button. But it has no practial effect, still no right clickinking with touchpad.

Ah, my apologies, your /var/log/dmesg.boot contained references to the OpenBSD-CURRENT kernel so I presumed you were tracking -current.

Things can break in six months, no? Perhaps it would be a good idea to check again.

That `synclient` command *does not* enable right-click with the touchpad, it simply allows you to simulate a right-click by tapping the touchpad with a single finger.

"That `synclient` command *does not* enable right-click with the touchpad, it simply allows you to simulate a right-click by tapping the touchpad with a single finger. "

Did not produce any simulated right click.

But thank you very much Head_on_a_Stick, for the information regarding 50 vs 70 synaptic.conf, and for asking logical question. And what commands to run, you know alot of unix for so few posts : ) Maby the information given, will be enough for somebody to give a concrete advice how to fix it. I strongly doubt it is hardware failure, multiple install of windows, linux, and openbsd, this problem has only showed up in openBSD, and allways showd up in OpenBSD..
This problem have bothered me since august 2016.
