Binary updates for -stable are in development
At the g2k16 Hackathon, development began on a mechanism to provide deployment (and rollback if necessary) of binary updates to kernels, the base system, and packages.
Up to this point, all updates have been in the form of source code patches, published as errata on the Project website, or available in the -stable branch of CVS. Users have had to build select modules to run -release+errata, or build complete systems (or rely on M:Tier services) to run -stable. See this article in the OpenBSD Journal for more details. |
