Hello, and welcome!

I saw Ken Moore's presentation on BSDNow. I had not noticed that ajacoutot@ had a port committed until your post here. So I installed it and tested it just now.

It appears to be a very nice packaging of add-ons for fluxbox. I have not done any configuration, all I did was add a test userid with an .xsession file containing "exec Lumina-DE".

It comes with these applications:
  • Lumina-DE
  • lumina-config
  • lumina-fm
  • lumina-open
  • lumina-screenshot
I tried the file manager and the configurator, and both started just fine.

Edited to add:

This was on i386, and -current of course.

For future reference: make sure to check the ports tree first (can be done online). Anything that appears in there you can assume has been tested.

For clarity, I used the x11/lumina port developed and committed to the -current tree by Antoine Jacoutot, which I referenced in my reply above.

To do so, I merely installed a pre-built lumina "snapshot package" and its dependencies from a nearby OpenBSD mirror, onto i386-current, using pkg_add(1). These packages are made available from time to time on popular architectures as a convenience for -current users.

Additional testing on i386 indicated several issues, notably high CPU utilization of the Lumina-DE master thread, and configuration changes delayed to X restart. Unfortunately I don't have time for extensive testing. These may both be tied to possible incorrect deployment of dependencies.
