Meltdown patch and varnishd
I have a machine that had been successfully running varnishd. I rebuilt the kernel following the instructions in the 010_ meltdown patch and now when I start varnishd a ps ax shows:
varnishd: Varnish-Mgt -i some.machine.net (varnishd) varnishd: Varnish-Mgt -i some.machine.net (varnishd) There is no child process listed and the webpages are not served. Nothing else has been touched. I've killed these varnish processes and am serving directly from httpd and really that's enough but what's up here? Or is this just a coincidence? Looking for hints |

Thanks jggimi. I posted here only because of the timing with the Meltdown patch.
