Default recommendations on a picture viewer

My install is this > default 4.8 install adding only mutt, links, mlpayer, and mp3blaster. I am looking for something small, possibly command driven if possible to view pictures (mostly jpegs) from my nikkon d40. I am not looking for anything gui driven. I have googled this topic and get a plethora of options but don't know what to choose and would really would like to know what you guys/girls recommend.
