Cisco to acquire OpenDNS
Per Subject Line
For someone using a mix (My ISP, Google, OpenDNS) of DNS servers this does not look to be good news. My own ISP can be horribly slow and, for some paranoid reason, DuckDuckGo slows significantly when using Google DNS servers. Any new options out there? I'm using Unbound+DNSCrypt. Probably not an uncommon combination here.
I switched from OpenDNS to OpenNIC, which was already in dnscrypt-resolvers.csv. There was a (roughly) local resolver. Latency is excellent. DNS stability does not seem any better, so there are probably software problems. Related to my unreliable internet connection, perhaps? :| |
