how should a wise decision be like , as far as the OpenBSD user is concerned ?
other than removing the package of course ..
I read many security alerts but what to do accordingly is something I find myself lacking most of the time ..

  • Wait for the port to be updated. At that time, dump all tables using the PostgreSQL specific tools for dumping, not OpenBSD's dump(8) utility.
  • Once all tables have been backed up, update the package/port.
  • Restore all table data using the PostgreSQL restore command, not OpenBSD's restore(8).
