rwx,r-x,r-x/U-- What's the "U" mean?
Using FreeBSD 7.0
I've searched a lot about permissions and can't find anything on what the U means. After installing aterm and eterm I can't run them. If I do a whereis on them it doesn't find them. I noticed that they have the U in the permissions. That may be the problem. What is that and do I need to unset it to run the programs? thanks |

This behaviour is not documented in the ls(1) man page.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your question, can you capture a screenshot to demonstrate the problem? Thanks. |

Eterm not eterm.
Thank you, that was my problem. Doh! Still thinking in a DOS frame of mind. But I'm still curious about the "U" I see it when using ROX but not in the terminal window. It must be something to do with ROX. I installed using ports. Oh, well. No biggie. I'll check the ROX docs. thanks |
