Default GRUB bootloader finally reaches version 2.00

From http://h-online.com/-1628691

After nearly ten years of work and various 1.9x pre-releases, the GRUB development team has finally released version 2.00 of the Grand Unified Bootloader (GRUB).
You don't need to be a genius to debug a pf.conf firewall ruleset, you just need the guts to run tcpdump

Now that's it's officially stable, can we, please, please, please, scrap it for something small, light, and configurable without knowing how to program? You know, maybe with a single, simple text file?

God what a royal pain in the arse GRUB2 (at least in the Debian-based distros) is to configure. It's nothing but a bunch of shell script snippets strewn about 75 gazillion different directories, without any documentation or methods to manipulate things from the CLI.

Booting FreeBSD systems is a breeze in comparison.

Configuring Grub feels like getting raped by a Klingon, Jem'Hadar, and Horta at the same time.
UNIX was not designed to stop you from doing stupid things, because that would also stop you from doing clever things.
