BSD speed testing
I'm wondering if there's a good way to do benchmarking on BSD systems. I'd like to compare the speeds of Free, Open, and NetBSD. I didn't see any good ones on the internet so I might try it myself and see.

Before you invest your time in it, see the following thread from OpenBSD's misc@ mailing list archives:

Thanks. The fefe link in the first post was what I had seen and realized it was outdated. If I find the time to do benchmarks, I'd like to also do comparisons on, as another user said:

Perhaps you already know this, or perhaps not. Nick Holland does a majority of the edits to the project's official FAQ. A few others make revisions, as do some of the developers, but Nick does most.

Regardless of any benchmarks, I will likely stay with OpenBSD as before I had used Linux Mint and it inherited all the issues from Ubuntu, and pretty soon it reminded me of Windows IT admins who would wait until SP1 to upgrade because the release was so unstable. |

and the most valuable post on benchmarking this side of the decade, goes to jggimi!
I always take bookmarks with a grain of salt, and prefer more specific profiling when they actually matter.
