OpenBSD 5.7 enters "beta" phase
OpenBSD has entered the "beta" phase of 5.7-release development with this patch to /usr/src/sys/conf/newvers.sh. Upcoming snapshots (or source builds) will show "5.7-beta". This is an indication that development of new features and functionality for 5.7 is coming to a close, and that testing (and problem reporting) by -current users is needed to improve the quality of the OS before development is frozen in February for release engineering, CD pressing, CD pre-ordering/shipping, and then release on or about May 1.
