I find myself in agreement. There are several knowledgeable members willing to share their expertise. ocicat, jggimi and carpet smoker are three that immediately pop into my head, plus others whose names I cannot think of right now, because I have not yet had my morning coffee. Perhaps a better idea would have been thanking all those people in a single thread?

With my English and beginner skill in OpenBSD, it has meant a lot that jggimi gives some ideas, concert code or just a friendly encouragement.
I read in the book "Absolute OpenBSD" that OpenBSD was like a community of expert, hostile to the small pathetic troubles of mere computer mortals. It might be an Idea for the author of that book, to adjust the page somewhat. I have now managed to, configure httpd, with wordpress and sqlite. Transmission-deamon, and fetch scripts in ksh. And now the latest, pf based nat router. |

Jggimi is the greatest nicest most generous most humble most patient most humanistic most helpful person I've ever known.
Thank you so much jggimi !!! Ocicat , ibara, IdOp , backrow , Carpetsmoker , to mention but a few, are also fine and great people. Thank you all for support and for bridging the gap between users and *BSD. And thanks to LeFrettchen , for starting such a thoughtfully nice thread. after just lurking here for around a year, i joined the other day.
and i, like everyone else, have noticed how knowledgeable and helpful, and available/approachable that guy is. that is rare on any forum, or anyplace for that matter. I would also like to confess that i, at different times, have had several questions regarding how-to on openbsd. actually, i still have some questions. but in keeping with my need to keep relearning everything i already know, i've noticed that when i dig into a problem, and check all sources-i have so far been able to get everything going. so far. when i focus. however slowly... I also would like to thank the project specificly for the man pages. they are less opaque to me every day as i learn-which is the best way to learn-slowly and in-depth. really enjoy this OS. thx, |

I also, would have to agree,
For as long as I have been a member, jggimi, has been extremely helpful on just about every issue that I may have ever had. There are many other knowledge members of course, but if he were to be gone, the forum would not be the same. By the way, I used to go by jjstorm. UNFORTUNATELY, I have lost my credentials to that account and had to register as a different user. |
