Default NVMM: NetBSD Virtual Machine Monitor

It seems that following bhyve and vmd/vmm, now also NetBSD got its hardware-accelerated hybrid hypervisor (amd64 only): NVMM, with preliminary support for up to 128 virtual machines, each having a maximum of 256 VCPUs and 4GB of RAM:

Quote:
The NVMM driver provides hardware-accelerated virtualization support on NetBSD. It is made of an ~MI frontend, to which MD backends can be plugged. A virtualization API is provided in libnvmm, that allows to easily create and manage virtual machines via NVMM. Two additional components are shipped as demonstrators, toyvirt and smallkern: the former is a toy virtualizer, that executes in a VM the 64bit ELF binary given as argument, the latter is an example of such binary
nvmm/libnvmm was upstreamed to HEAD just a week ago (check out sources here) and will likely make its way into 9

Default 'From Zero to NVMM'

This is a recap of NVMM development undertaken so far, further clarifying several design concepts of the new hypervisor, and showing how it is now able to manage hardware-accelerated QEMU graphical guest sessions, with multiple VCPUs, on both Fedora29 and Windows10
