Default Keyboard

Hello everyone.
Installed FreeBSD 7.0 and had hardly any problems, except one, I use u/k keyboard and its fine in the Gnome desktop. But when I use any Terminal it reverts to u/s,I did configure it for u/k in Gnome, but dont know how to do it for the Terminal.
This is my first attempt at BSD,my system is a Toshiba Equium A200 Notebook.
Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
