Default Netbsd does't seem to detect bce0 ..

Hi everybody !
How are you ? I hope you're sound and safe ..

Yesterday I installed Netbsd on my 8g usb , out of curiosity .. it was a default full installation .. 4g swap+ rest for netbsd .. compared to OpenBSD boot it is a bit faster ..

while Netbsd detects on the fly my wpi0 and did't need any afterboot firmware install , it didn't detect my bce0 !
when I do #ifconfig -a .. it doesn't show but wpi0 and lo ..

The root cause is likely to be discovered in your NetBSD dmesg(8).

See recommendation c.4. in http://www.daemonforums.org/showthread.php?t=596

It is never a bad idea to post dmesg(8) output. Many collateral questions can be answered by knowing how the kernel is identifying hardware.

you are right Ocicat .. just sometimes I wonder if there is sth in the dmesg output that may reveal some Achilles' heel .. MAC or sth .. I don't know really ..

As we are ascertaining that English is not your first language, English is not the first language of many of our members. Using abbreviations is fine if they are common to technical literature. Abbreviations used in text messaging is discouraged, as not everyone uses/understands them.

The goal each poster should attempt to make is to provide clarity to an audience which may be at different levels of language proficiency, & come from different cultural backgrounds. Some may see this as advocating blandness, but clear & concise communication is far more important in an arena where the only way we communicate with each other is through forum posts.

Technical discussions have enough problems. We don't need to complicate the communication further by using descriptions no one understands.
