gnome - only renders one frame per VT switch.

Hi everyone.

I'm new to OpenBSD, just getting started, but loving what I have seen so far.
I switched to OpenBSD on one of my laptops because i was yearning for simpler days... I plan on sticking with cwm once i have worked the commands into muscle memory.

BUT, while i learn, I decided to install gnome to fall back onto.

I installed the gnome package, and followed the instructions in in the pkg readme.

I have a very very strange problem.. Unon re-booting, the gdm login manager displays just a blank screen..switching virtual terminals to console, then back to Xorg with ctrl-alt-F1 -> ctrl-alt-F5 changes the background.. repeating the process over and over gradually displays more of GDM, untill it looks as one might expect.

It is as-if Xorg only renders one new frame on a VT switch... then, hangs.

If I Select my username, nothing happens... but after more VT switching, the password prompt appears.. I enter my password, then VT switch many times, I eventually log in to gnome.. Anything I click has no effect... but, VT switching many times slowly animates, one frame at a time until what ever I clicked has appeared.

XFCE, and CWM function perfectly.

I have not found anything interesting in any logs...

The bug is present in 6.8-RELEASE, and 6.8-CURRENT.

I'm running on an dell XPS-13. 9343. An Intel Broadwell CPU. integrated graphics

Others have reported that OpenBSD runs really well on this laptop.
Any idea on what I can try ?

Although, I don't think this is a driver / hardware issue, as i3/xfce/cwm all function perfectly. Gnome apps function correctly when launced from inside a cwm.i3/xfce session.

IIRC, Gnome requires 3D hardware acceleration. Perhaps there's something of note in /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
