I have used sendmail ... but whitout touching it very much. When it came to making some advanced configuration i gave up ... it has some shitty syntax of conf files.
I asked a friend and googled around ... and finaly I choosed exim. It has pretty good documentation ...
Since 8-9 mounths i havent touched it. It runs perfect - antispam, tls ...

I've been using postfix, and am pleased as punch.

I used exim a few years back on a gentoo system, but don't remember much about it.

I like Postfix. I used sendmail and qmail in the past and just never "got it". Postfix seemed logical to me and once I setup my first postfix mail server, haven't had any reason to try anything else (past 4 years). I've heard good things about Exim, certain web hosting systems (ie cpanel) I *believe* use Exim by default (which is I think a good endorsement for Exim given the thousands of cpanel servers out there with hundreds of thousands of domains). I just never had any reason to try Exim as Postfix seems to be very similar in capability to Exim.

I deal mainly with small business networks. I tend to use assp, postfix, dovecot, clamav for the mail server. Usually this is a set it and forget it configuration.

I used Qmail for one year. After that I've migrated to Postfix and now I'm using it for 6 years and also I have no reason to change it to something else. I would also like to try exim for testing purposes, but I wont ever come back to qmail.

Do we really need to start another discussion about this ?

People use what they find easiest and what they are forced to use - they all do the same job in a different way!
