Default any practical NNTP newsreader to use with gmane ?

Hello !

I'd like to be able to archive gmane.os.openbsd.**** for online as well as offline use.
First I tried using Opera mail .. with which I may export lists as .mbs .. but this jails me within Opera .. and moreover it could hang sometimes when the lists are huge (eg. tech) .. or when multitasking .. do I need to change ulimit ?? )
So, is there a better alternative serving this purpose ?

Thanks for the help you offer !

I use slrnpull and mutt, it works super but I spent a *lot* of time initially setting it up, (and by chance found a mutt customization from a linux thread somewhere. ) It may be worth your while if you've many hours to spare setting it up...
