Default OpenSolaris installation issue

Hello! I'm having a bit of difficulty installing OpenSolaris 2008.05 on my computer.
The problem is this: I start the installation process after the liveCD has booted, and when it gets to around 99-100%, my system instantaneously reboots! I've tried burning several separate discs of OS 2008.05, each at a slow speed and verified the burn. All of them show this problem. I tested this on my other, older computer and it installed fine.
I'm inclined to think it's my hardware. Here's my specs:

-Intel Core 2 Q6600 2.40 GHz Quad Core Processor
-Intel BLKDG31PR Motherboard
-4096 MB (4GB) DDR II 800MHz PC6400 Memory
-250GB SATA 7,200 RPM 8MB Cache Hard Drive
-1TB SATA 7,200 RPM 32MB Cache Hard Drive
-Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 Onboard Video Graphics (disabled in BIOS)
-nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB PCI-E 16x video card
-20X DVD±RW Burner Dual Layer Drive (IDE)
-52x CD burner (IDE)
-Single-Layer Blu-ray burner, Dual-Layer reader (SATA)
-Dual-Layer Blu-ray burner/HD DVD-ROM (SATA)
-6 Channel High Definition onboard sound (disabled in BIOS)
-Creative SoundBlaster Audigy SE 24-bit PCI sound card
- 10/100/1000 Gigabit Network Interface

The SATA and IDE controllers are part of my motherboard, if that matters.
I've searched a lot for answers to this problem, but I haven't found any answers to why the OpenSolaris installation-reboot problem occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is to remove the addon cards and enable the onboard video. Then if that works to add cards back one at a time. It's most likely to be the video, sata, or network driver. Is that quad-core? Can you disable 3 of the cores in the bios and then try?

Thank you for the reply. I'll take your advice into consideration in the future when I try to install it again. For the time being I've switched to FreeBSD.

Not wanting to be Mr. Obvious, as often I find myself wrong, but a quick check of the OpenSolaris HCL http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data...mfg.page1.html shows that your particular model of Intel motherboard is not reported to work. While this is not the end all be all with OpenSolaris, it might be worth downloading the the Device Driver installation check CD and boot it on your system. It basically checks to see if it can match your devices to a device driver. If it comes back 100 percent it should run either OpenSolaris or Solaris u4 or u5. If it comes back with errors then my guess is that it would not work well.

https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP...-F@CDS-CDS_SMI is where I found it.

I tried OpenSolaris again today and it worked. Apparently all I needed was a BIOS update.
