Postfix exporting
Hi!,
I have an old mail server installed FreeBSD + Postfix. The system works good. I have prepared a new freebsd and postfix. I want to export all postfix data from old server to the new server. How i can do it? Is there real ways to establish this? Thank you Reply With Quote |

what do you mean by 'postfix data' - you talking about users mail boxes?
they'll move over quite fine - they are in a standardised format

Just tar them on old server and copy it over to the new server and extract.
Same method goes for both mailboxes and postfix configuration. Something like this: Code:
tar -cf - -C /path/to/user/mailboxes | ssh anotherhost tar -xpf - -C /path/to/user/mailboxes How to do that depends what kind of users do you have? System users or virtual (stored in somekind of database, e.g. mysql)? Last edited by deemon; 11th June 2008 at 11:43 AM. |
