Transparent proxy and bandwidth
Hi
Is there any way to limit upload for clients using transparent proxy like squid. If not, if i tag the packets incoming to squid i will be able to put them to appropiate pipes ? Thanks! |

Using:
http://www.google.com/search?client=...utf-8&oe=utf-8 I clicked the first result: http://squid-web-proxy-cache.1019090...td2314141.html Which lead me to: http://wiki.squid-cache.org/Features...delay_pools%29 Does this answer your question?

As i know, this only limit download bandwidth not upload

Cannot you use the altq framework to queue the packets? See http://www.openbsd.org/faq/pf/queueing.html

Yes i can, but my question is, if i tag the packets before they arrive to squid will i still be able to filtrate it on external interface using this tags ?

How is your network topology? On which box is squid running?

On gateway. I want to limit upload bandwidth for user behind gateway.

You can queue/rate limit on the external interface of the squid/gateway box.

But i dont want to queue overall traffic outgoing from squid but traffic for individual connections.
|
|
|||
In that case I don't think it is possible ......
