Default PGP, TrueCrypt-encrypted files CRACKED by £300 tool

From http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/12..._decrypts_pgp/

ElcomSoft has built a utility that forages for encryption keys in snapshots of a PC's memory to decrypt PGP and TrueCrypt-protected data.
You don't need to be a genius to debug a pf.conf firewall ruleset, you just need the guts to run tcpdump

Sigh. A careful reading of the press release will help. The product does not break ciphers. Instead it pulls keys in plaintext from memory. Normal shutdown and power off should eliminate the product's ability to exploit poor key management by disk crypto applications during post-mortem analysis.
