Default avidemux2 command line

anyone use avidemux2_cli to batch convert video files? No matter what command line parameters I use I get this output

It appears to be trying to invoke the GUI, but I don't want that. I'm connecting to this machine remotely via ssh without X.

I'm trying to convert about 200 xvids to dx50 format so they will play on my stand alone DVD player.
