pkgin accident...any known solutions?
Any DragonflyBSD users here?
I have searched for a way to fix this all over the known places with no luck.
Out of sheer stupidity and lack of relevant knowledge I deleted (rm) all the installed non-autoremovable packages directories in /var/db/pkg/ .
After that, pkgin list couldn't list any installed packages ("requested list is empty"), can't then remove & upgrade installed packages prior to the mishap.
Probably only the pkgin import can fix it but i haven't got a list!
Does anyone know if you can somehow reconnect them?
Cheers
Despite the problems that may occur (mostly to the still BSD bit illiterate of us..), I have to point out that Dragonfly&NetBSD rock for real. I came from various GNU/Linux distros and the difference in stability & package management (at least) is pretty obvious. I'm impressed.
PS. Shouldn't Dragonfly get a section of its own?
