Default simple image manipulation

For those of you that resize images for website use or other purposes, what software package do you like?

Another Gimp user here. I have sometimes used ImageMagick for bulk conversions / transforms.

I have seen some website scripts that use ImageMagick/GraphicsMagick to convert images on the fly.

I pretty much just use ImageMagic, in fact don't even have Gimp installed. For browsing images on
my PC I like Nomacs.
This was not so "simple", but I used both Image Magic and Nomacs to make it.

Also "xpaint" for drawing.

Another xpaint user here. Used to be an occasional gimp user until I realized that I only ever used about 5% of its functionality. It may not be perfect, but for the time being xpaint serves my needs.

I've also had excellent results with ImageMagick's montage & convert utilities when doing scripted bulk downloads of image tiles from the web and automatically stitching them back together again.
