Isn't 'rk' an old disk driver? <--- sorry couldn't resist !


apt-get at least gets the job done on several systems, so it can't be to shabby (y) as far as end users are concerned.

Are you trying to create a smallest image with x-window?
I prepared the iso with twm(47 mb) -

Even twm on solaris is possible.
