how to allow users to mount cdrom and usb flash?
Hi Amigos !
I am on OpenBSD 5.0 , I still can't mount neither cdrom nor usb except by sudoing .. as a user I already belong to wheel and I chowned both /dev/sd0i and /dev/cd0a as mine and set usb and cdrom directories in my ~/ as mount points .. still I can't mount both unless I sudo .. what am I still lacking here ?? mmm ... |

Maybe you need to change kern.usermount. From the mount man page:

Hi Denta !
Thank you ! I vi /etc/sysctl.conf .. couldn't find the kern.usermount=N which I added and put 1 yet the problem persists .. does it need a reboot ? if so and because life is too short for reboots , how can I bypass that ? |

@daemonfowl, to clarify denta's comments: the settings in sysctl.conf(5) are provisioned by rc(8) during boot. The sysctl(8) command may be used to twist most knobs at will.
