Default Mouse problems

I am new to FreeBSD, BSD in general actually, and I am having problems.

Doesn't seem to be much documentation however.

I am on FreeBSD 7.0 i386. My mouse is a USB Razer Copperhead. With the mouse settings on configuration I can't get it to show a mouse pointer what-so-ever except when I use the first settings, but that's only for a tenth of second and then the pointer disappears.. so what do I do?

Thanks for any help that can be given.
