Turn based
Turn based RPG's were a favorite of mine (crpgs )
The first i ever played was ultima 4quest of the avatar, my golden age was FF6, and 7th saga, chrono trigger etc on the snes hehe. Fallout and Arcanum were the "last greats" for me, although I fully enjoyed nwn1 on Freebsd with linux emulation, and DAO on wine. Dragon age 2 was just bad. characters had no customization at all(dao morrigan could shoot a bow or wield swords but in this game a warrior couldn't shoot a bow, or use a shield if he was 2h, etc) Bioware games seem to be getting more and more "EAlike" as everything seems to all blend together into one Unreal engine 3ps slashemup. i could recommend, a few tho. The humble bundle had Avadon: The Black Fortress, and i'm waiting for legion of grimrock to come out on good ole games. it would really be great to see some oss programmers come out with a solid 2d crpg framework that people could use to write original content, (like rgpmaker, etc) |
