Possible FAQ typos
Hello,
I was wondering where should FAQ corrections be adressed? Via git, on the bug or misc mailing list? Maybe IRC? What would be the more convenient way for the maintainer? |

jggimi, thank you!
So this is what I did after following the instructions here Code:
cvs -qd anoncvs@anoncvs.ca.openbsd.org:/cvs get -P www/faq cd www/faq -- I did my modifications cvs diff > faq_typos.diff Code:
? faq_typos.diff Index: faq13.html =================================================================== RCS file: /cvs/www/faq/faq13.html,v retrieving revision 1.200 diff -r1.200 faq13.html 462c462 < It shows three MIDI ports, known by --- > It shows two MIDI ports, known by Index: ports/index.html =================================================================== RCS file: /cvs/www/faq/ports/index.html,v retrieving revision 1.27 diff -r1.27 index.html 124c124 < patch, configure, compile and package the raw soure code. --- > patch, configure, compile and package the raw source code. Shame on me for using Debian to patch OpenBSD...
Here is the complete story, first I used diff(1) with the -u option as you suggested then I saw the cvs(1) diff command and assumed that it would work the same on OpenBSD and Debian and wouldn't need additional options. Anyway, the patch applied "cleanly" and was accepted. The dev was kind enough to point my mistakes. Lesson learned. |
